Hospital Medicine Simulation-Based Boot Camp for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants is a simulation-based, two-day course designed for the novice learner, ideally within the first year of their hospital-based NP/PA position. This course is full of practical information taught by faculty that use current guidelines and share tidbits of experience to help successfully care for acutely ill hospitalized patients. It is filled with a variety of commonly encountered hospital scenarios followed by interactive and informal discussion. Open dialog is encouraged. Participants should feel free to wear scrubs and comfortable shoes, bring a stethoscope, and reference/clinical materials used in daily practice. Despite being called boot camp there are no physical fitness elements to the course.

Genetics is rapidly transforming clinical practice in nephrology with innovations in diagnosis, prognostication, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets. The 21st Annual Dermoscopy and Malignant Melanoma course provides a multidisciplinary review of standards-of-care management practices and state-of-the-art advances in care of the patient with cutaneous melanoma. The course has been extremely successful through the years and was one of the first Mayo courses to utilize virtual formats during the COVID-19 pandemic. As before, basic, and advanced education tracks are offered to meet the needs of the learners. This course is designed for dermatologists, physicians in internal medicine and family practice, oncologists, oncologic surgeons, and general practitioners, including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. CME and self-assessment credits toward MOC Part 2 are offered.

This course reviews the prevention, diagnosis, and management of cardiac and vascular diseases of cancer patients throughout the continuum of their care including heart failure, myocardial ischemia, hypertension, thromboembolism, and arrhythmia. The course is directed towards the spectrum of providers who care for cancer patients to enable them to recognize the cardiovascular risk of their patients and take action to minimize this risk.
