Pediatric Quality and Patient Safety Conference: Collaborating to Make Pediatric Health Care Safer in Minnesota

The MN Pediatric Quality & Safety Conference invites you to network with multidisciplinary colleagues from the region to collaborate on ways to effectively increase the quality and safety of pediatric healthcare. The primary goal is to demonstrate meaningful progress towards enhancing the effectiveness in pediatric patient healthcare. Faculty members will address topics such as patient safety, HACs, and coaching strategies related to identifying obstacles and opportunities for innovative approaches to closing the identified gaps.

Course Highlights:

  • Learn innovative approaches others are using to close the gaps in areas of patient safety, HACS, coaching strategies & many more. 
  • Listen as patients share their personal care story.
  • Network with colleagues and collaborate on how to effectively increase the quality and safety of pediatric healthcare.

Charter bus transportation will be provided by Richfield and Rochester City Lines.

There will be Mayo Clinic escorts to bring you to the meeting room upon arrival in Rochester. 

Buses will depart Rochester between 4:45 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. and will arrive back in the Twin Cities around 6:15pm to 6:30pm. 

Target Audience

The MN Pediatric Quality & Safety Conference is designed for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, allied health staff, pharmacists, patient/family engagement advocates, quality and safety leaders, and facilitators with an interest in pediatrics in the state of Minnesota.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe key strategies for enhancing high-reliability implementation of prevention bundles for healthcare acquired conditions causing harm in hospitalized children.
  • Identify best practices to reduce over-exertion and patient/family behavioral event association with staff harm.
  • Describe leadership methods to improve the culture of safety for the benefit of both patients and staff.
