This course will provide the latest, state-of-the-art information on the diagnosis and management of common disorders such as colon cancer and pancreas cancer; functional dyspepsia, new concept of culinary medicine, IBD, colon polyp management, new interventional endoscopy; management of alcoholic hepatitis, fatty liver, Hepatitis C and update on new and existing therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma. Course format will offer didactic lectures, an interactive live-endoscopy session, panel discussions and Q & A. Active audience participation is strongly encouraged (keypads will be used).

Target Audience

The intended audience includes gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, nurses and advanced healthcare practitioners (NPs, PAs, RNs, etc.).

Learning Objectives

GI Objectives:

• Apply latest technique to manage various colon polyps

• Describe standard algorithm & newer methods for an investigation on small bowel

• Describe diagnostic criteria & txt modalities for functional dyspepsia

• Integrate new treatment algorithm for Crohn’s disease

• Describe concept of culinary medicine

• Evaluate current recommendations & explain updates for colon cancer screening

• Explain new genomic discovery & risk assessment for pancreas cancer

• Incorporate GI diagnostic & therapeutic algorithm for pancreas cancer

Hepatology Objectives:

• Evaluate current mgt for alcoholic hepatitis, including the role of liver transplantation

• Assess current concepts in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, including emerging & experimental approaches

• Review surgical, loco-regional & medical treatments for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) according to disease stage & patient functional status

• Appraise current txt paradigms for hepatitis C in the direct-acting antiviral era
