DESCRIPTION
The Metabolic ICC discusses a broad spectrum of nonneoplastic RBC disorder cases and aims to disseminate experience, discussion, innovation, and project germination. Cases include molecular classification, protein characterization (quantitative and qualitative) and functional assays used to diagnose and follow patients' treatment. 

In-Person and Live-Streamed; Monthly on the 2nd Wednesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Allied Health Professionals, Physicians, Resident Fellows, Scientist Researcher PhDs, and Genetic Counselors. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize the common and rare conditions encountered in the Metabolic Hematology Lab.
  • Differentiate the methods utilized to identify the conditions and recognize the optimal testing required to arrive at a correct diagnosis.
  • Summarize innovative diagnostic methods and clinical treatments for the conditions found in our patient population.
