This session will provide an overview of the approach to cardiovascular risk that providers encounter when evaluating various cardiovascular diagnoses.

Learning Objectives - Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify surgical risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease.
• Compare risk prediction tools used for calculating surgical risk in patients with cardiovascular disease.
• Define functional capacity relationship to surgical risk and outcomes.
• Examine cardiovascular testing modalities and necessity for preoperative patients.
• Assess perioperative therapy recommendations for patients with cardiovascular disease.
