Convergence calls for groups within the biomedical, life sciences, physical science, engineering and other fields to come together to solve unmet health needs. This conference aims to bring together various scientists with the aim of discovery of education gaps inherent to one’s own discipline as well as the potential for creative collaboration in shared problem solving.
|Full Fee; M.D., DO, Scientist||$750.00|
|Reduced Fee: Resident, Fellow, NP, PA, Allied Health Professional||$600.00|
Abstracts: Deadline October 9, 2017, 2017
As part of Mayo Clinic Convergence Neuroscience, all submitted abstracts will be shared via selected electronic poster (ePoster) at the meeting. Submitted abstracts may include converged science projects involving laboratory teams or transdisciplinary teams (clinical or basic science, biomedical and/or computer science, or engineering research with integrated team with work in design chemical, physical, mechanical,, electrical or biomedical realms). Posters will be peer-reviewed and accepted abstract recipients. The submission deadline for abstracts is October 9, 2017. At least one of the authors must register and attend the conference. Convergence calls for groups within many backgrounds of science including biomedical, life sciences, physical science, engineering and other fields to come together to solve unmeet health needs. This includes neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroscientists (PhD), chemists and physicists (physical science), engineers (mechanical, electrical, software, and "health care"). Also newer scientific fields are emerging that are key to convergence in health care including health information technology (IT), informatics, artificial intelligence and machine learning experts.
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss complex neurological conditions and challenges
- Identify emerging innovations and potential converged solutions
- Recognize convergence concepts
- Identify opportunities for scientific collaboration, discovery and problem solving
- Create a growing network of convergence neuroscience teams within Mayo Clinic and abroad
Attendance at this Mayo course does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in this course.
