Title: "To Thin or Not to Thin:"  Management Issues with Venous Thromboembolic Disease in Stroke
Learning Objectives:

  • List appropriate measures to prevent venous thromboembolic disease after ischemic stroke
  • Discuss factors pertinent to therapeutic anticoagulation for management of thromboembolic disease after ischemic stroke
  • Relate accepted guidelines for the use of pharmacological intervention in prevention of venous thromboembolic disease after hemorrhagic stroke
  • Identify important factors related to therapeutic anticogulation for management of thromboembolic disease after hemorrhagic stroke
