As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, so does our understanding of the disease. Mayo Clinic infectious diseases specialist Stacey A. Rizza, M.D., FIDSA, presents an updated overview of COVID-19 and the causative agent SARS-CoV-2. She covers the emerging risk factors associated with poor prognosis, the symptoms timeline, stages of disease progression, and how these stages impact our treatment decisions.
