Cardiac ICU Nursing Online CNE Course
This online CNE course is designed to provide an overview of cardiac intensive care nursing. Session topics include a general cardiac overview, heart failure, pacemaker basics, chest tube management, left ventricular assist devices (LVAD) including right heart failure, and care of a patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) including nursing assessment, device management, physiology concepts, and bedside emergencies with an ECMO Specialist.
Target Audience
This online CNE course is designed for nurses providing critical care for cardiology patients.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Define basic cardiology terms including an overview of heart failure.
- Describe critical nursing care of a patient including chest tube management, pacemaker therapy, nursing assessment, and device monitoring.
- Differentiate veno-venous and veno-arterial ECMO circuits.
- Identify pericardial compressive syndromes and emergency situations.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If the cancellation is made prior to the start of the activity, a refund less an administration fee of $25 will be issued. If the cancellation is made after the start of the activity, no refund will be issued. All refunds will be made using the same method as the original payment.
