Transplant Ethics - Dilemmas and Discussions 2015

This course provides a focus on ethical issues in transplant practice centered around real-world cases and includes multi-disciplinary panel discussions. Topics covered include ethical issues surrounding living donation, high-risk recipients, hand and face transplantation, paired donor exchanges, and ventricular assist devices. There is ample time after each presentation for questions and group discussion. The course is appropriate for participants interested in clinical ethics and health care providers involved in transplantation, as well as providers from practices that interface with transplant centers such as nephrology & dialysis, cardiology, critical care, hepatology, and pulmonology.
