Compressive neuropathies are relatively common among athletic injuries. Mayo Clinic experts will review the latest knowledge with regards to both the diagnosis and treatment recommendations of this condition. They will focus special attention to the rehabilitation considerations and strategies. Kimberly H. McVeigh, C.H.T., O.T., M.B.A. is an Occupational Therapist who specializes in Hand Therapy. Mark Friedrich B. Hurdle, M.D. is a PM&R physician with specialty training in chronic Pain Medicine. He has an interest in painful peripheral nerve evaluations and treatments.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Distinguish the typical presentation of compression neuropathy (Domain 2, Task: 0203)
- Determine the appropriate work-up to confirm the diagnosis of compression neuropathy (Domain 2, Task: 0204)
- Discuss treatment options for athletes with compression neuropathies. (Domain 2, Task: 0205)
- Establish rehabilitation considerations of the ulnar nerve in throwing athletes (Domain 4, Task: 0401)
- Demonstrate rehabilitation options in radial nerve compression neuropathies in athletes (Domain 4, Task: 0403)
- Analyze the prevalence and treatment of median nerve compression in athletes (Domain 4, Task: 0407)
