The 15th International Conference on Advances in Quantitative Laryngology (AQL), Voice and Speech Research is a valuable scientific meeting in the field of voice research which fosters the exchange of theoretical, experimental, and methodological advances, thereby progressing the translational and clinical aspects of voice and speech science. This multidisciplinary conference brings together scientists, clinicians, and students from around the world in various disciplines including engineering, biology, physics, otolaryngology and speech pathology. This course provides an opportunity for the healthcare scientific community to share knowledge and updates on the current quantitative research in voice and speech. Presentation topics will include tissue engineering, quantitative imaging, and machine learning.

STUDENT OPPORTUNITIES
This course is funded, in part, through a National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant, which encourages and supports student participation. Eligible students may be awarded complimentary registration (in-person or livestream attendance) and housing (in-person attendance only).
Eligibility criterion:
- Requests for complimentary registration (in-person or livestream) and/or housing (in-person attendance only) must be submitted to Jenny Kundert, Program Manager, via email, kundert.jenny@mayo.edu, before February 28, 2023. Please indicate if you are requesting registration, housing or both.
- Complimentary registration (in-person and live-stream) is limited and will be allocated first-come-first-served.
- Students must provide a copy of your current student identification from your educational institution.
- Complimentary student housing (in-person attendance only):
- Complimentary housing is limited and will be allocated first-come-first-served.
- Housing will be available at The Residence Inn Phoenix Desert View at Mayo Clinic which is located on the Mayo Clinic campus in Phoenix.
- Please include in your request your arrival and departure dates. Note, the grant will cover room and tax only for the evenings of Wednesday, March 29 – Saturday, April 1, 2023. All additional expenses incurred, including food/beverage or incidentals will be the responsibility of the student.
- Travelers who plan to extend their travel pre- or post-course will be responsible for all additional expenses.
- Accommodations will include studio queen/queen rooms; two students assigned per room. If traveling with a student colleague or know of another student who qualifies for this award and will attend, we will try to accommodate your request to share a room upon request and confirmation from each party.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Recognize the role of the interdisciplinary research team in the execution of research in quantitative voice, speech and swallowing.
- Evaluate new research, ideas and results in the area of quantitative voice, speech and swallowing.
- Implement interdisciplinary research in the fields of quantitative voice, speech and swallowing.
