DESCRIPTION
The Center for Individualized Medicine (CIM) Grand Rounds is a multi site series where world-renown speakers present the latest in scientific discovery and innovation in translating Individualized Medicine to meet current and future patient needs. Our sessions offer the opportunity to stay ahead of individualized medicine in patient care as well as join sessions to discover emerging technologies that may be applicable to their practice. The audience will consist of medical and graduate students, residents and fellows, physicians, advanced practice nursing, researchers, genetic counselors, and allied health staff. CIM Grand Rounds is available through webcast to reach Mayo Clinic staff throughout the enterprise. Speakers may be in person or virtual, post session, there will be opportunities to review recordings of the session.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This series is intended for physicians, advanced practice nurses, PAs, pharmacists, genetic counselors, laboratory medicine professionals, bioinformaticians, researchers, residents, fellows, nurses and allied health staff.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review applications of omics for individualizing patient care.
- Define strategies to implementing omics for providing individualizing patient care.
- Identify how omics, AI and other emerging technologies can promote individualized care for patients.
- Debate ethical, legal, and social issues arising from the translation of individualized medicine into the clinical practice and the promotion of molecular, cellular, and genomic medicine research.
