The goal of a quality improvement project (QIP) is to increase effectiveness and efficiency of actions and procedures with the purpose of meeting the needs of patients and achieving additional benefits for the organization. QIPs will provide individuals with a foundation of quality improvement training and will empower them to identify opportunities for improvement at individual, group or team, departmental, and institutional levels. Prospective and retrospective QIPs that meet criteria and have had activity within the past 12 months may be submitted and reviewed by the QRB for the purpose of awarding educational credit (CME, MOC) and Mayo Quality Fellows program certification.
