Oncology Nursing Core Curriculum: Cellular Therapy Overview

This course is intended to provide an overview of cellular therapy (the transplantation of human cells to treat and/or cure disease) and will focus on Blood and marrow Transplants (BMT) and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (CAR-T).
Target Audience
This CNE course is designed for nurses in hematology/oncology or who are interested in the specialty.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Describe the difference between allogenic transplants, autologous transplants and Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-Cell Therapy (CAR-T)
• List two advantages of allogenic transplants, autologous transplants, and CAR-T.
• Explain the difference between acute versus chronic Graft Versus Host Disease (GVHHD)
