Title: Mayo Clinic – UANL Collaboration and the Complex Landscape of Latin American Populations
Introduction:
Fabio Sambataro, M.D., Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Padova, Director of the Psychiatry Residency Program, and Head of the Outpatient Clinic for Mood Disorders. He trained in medicine, psychiatry, and neuroscience, completing a Ph.D. at the University of Catania, a research fellowship at the NIMH (Bethesda, USA), and postdoctoral work at the Italian Institute of Technology (Parma). He also directed the Clinical Imaging Lab at Roche Innovation Center (Basel), focusing on translational neuroimaging research. His work applies functional neuroimaging and multivariate techniques to study the pathophysiology and treatment response of major psychiatric disorders—including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression—with a focus on brain network connectivity, genetic influences, and treatment effects.
