TITLE: Making Life Better After Gastic Cancer

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Recognize the short- and long-term quality-of-life burden after gastrectomy, including meal-related distress, dumping, diarrhea, eating limitations, weight loss, financial toxicity, and decision regret.  

2. Compare the oncologic and functional tradeoffs among esophagectomy, total gastrectomy, proximal gastrectomy with double-tract reconstruction, and total gastrectomy with J-pouch reconstruction, and identify patients who may benefit from function-preserving approaches.  

3. Analyze how the overlapping effects of postoperative recovery and adjuvant chemotherapy contribute to treatment intolerance and non-completion, and evaluate total neoadjuvant therapy as a strategy to improve delivery of intended systemic treatment.  

4. Interpret postoperative circulating tumor DNA as a marker of molecular residual disease and describe how SIGNAL GEC-101 uses ctDNA to test risk-adapted adjuvant therapy, including de-escalation for ctDNA-negative patients and treatment intensification following molecular recurrence.
