Basic Suturing Workshop - 2/9/17

This is an introductory workshop for nurse practitioners and physician assistants who have limited experience in suturing. The Basic Suturing workshop covers instrument basics such as suture types and selection, proper loading of the needle, wound assessment, local anesthesia, aftercare, and documentation. Participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate basic suturing techniques. All supplies will be provided for the workshop. Enrollment is limited in order to optimize the learning experience.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
• Identify different suture materials and needles
• Demonstrate wound closure techniques
• Describe suture after care
