2017 Mayo Clinic Pathology Update: A Tribute to the Career of Kevin O. Leslie, M.D. - General Session

This 2.5 day course provides attendees an update on select diagnostic pathology topics, covering a broad range of subjects including pulmonary, soft tissue & orthopedic, hepatic, skin, breast, renal, gynecologic, head & neck, cytopathology, neuropathology and lymph node pathology, as well as special techniques. Presentations will focus on practical diagnostic challenges with updates on current terminology, classification, and molecular markers. Following lecture sessions, attendees will have an opportunity to solidify new concepts and materials with brand new case reviews using an interactive audience response system.
Each lecture topic is carefully selected to celebrate the distinguished career of Professor Kevin O. Leslie, MD who has extensively published in many of these areas and serves as senior editor on the highly acclaimed Pattern Recognition book series. A special session will be held the second day of the course, during which Dr. Leslie will share some of the most memorable lessons of his career.

Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
• Describe rare, benign and malignant lesions of the urinary bladder using morphology and ancillary studies.
• Recognize various liver diseases secondary to systemic illnesses.
• Evaluate donor kidney biopsies and classify changes according to established criteria.
• Discuss recent changes to the WHO classification of ovarian epithelial tumors.
• Describe morphologic patterns of bone tumors.
• Recognize various patterns in diagnosing salivary gland tumors.
• Identify various patterns in recognizing lymph node neoplasias.
