- Describe the numerous roles that amino acids serve in both normal brain function and neurological disease.
- Demonstrate how enzyme deficiencies that are common in neurological disease can impact amino acid metabolism and function in the brain.
- Explain the effects of branched-chain amino acid supplementation in the healthy and diseased brain.
- Demonstrate how amino acid transport can be altered in neurological disease, and why targeting these transporters might facilitate the development of novel therapies.
