Greg Worrell, M.D., Ph.D.
Introduction
Greg Worrell, MD, PhD is Professor of Neurology and Physiology & Biomedical Engineering at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. He is the Vice-chair of Neurology Research, Director of Mayo Systems Electrophysiology Laboratory (MSEL), and former Clinical Neurophysiology Division Chair. His clinical practice is focused on the evaluation and care of patients with drug resistant epilepsy. His research team is currently pursuing integration of neurophysiology with local and distributed computing resources to create the next generation of therapeutic systems for treating neurological disease. In the near future a clinical trial will investigate therapeutic brain stimulation, seizure detection, seizure forecasting, and dense behavioral tracking of epilepsy related cognitive and psychiatric co-morbidities. Dr. Worrell received a Ph.D. in Physics from Case Western Reserve University and MD from University of Texas Medical Branch. He completed his Neurology and Epilepsy training at Mayo Clinic followed by a research fellowship at University of Pennsylvania.
