Speakers:
Sheila Jowsey-Gregoire, MD is a transplant psychiatrist with a joint appointment in the Dept. of Surgery, associate professor of psychiatry, and co-chair of Professionalism at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. She is board certified in psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Craig Sawchuk, PhD is a clinical psychologist, professor of psychology, co-chair of Professionalism, and co-chair of the Division of Integrated Behavioral Health at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. His clinical and research interests involve the evidence-based management of anxiety disorders, which is projected to be an area of significant growth in the not so distant future.


Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Review psychological first aid as it pertains to a pandemic.
  • Provide background on the psychiatric and psychological aspects of pandemics.
  • Identify the scope of services available for individuals needing support during COVID-19.
  • Review easily available tools to support patients, staff and the general public.
