Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, or other health care providers.

Learning Objectives

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the term "Cultural Competence"
  • List some of the established health disparities known to exist for patients of various cultures
  • Describe how the ladder of inference affects our thinking process as we start with a fact and come to a decision or action
  • Give examples of techniques to enhance the use of a health care interpreter
