Clinical Updates in Allergy and Immunology is designed to deliver a present-day understanding of allergic disorders with an emphasis on the translation of allergy knowledge to clinical practice. This structured theme-based program includes evidence-based and emerging clinical approaches presented by expert Mayo Clinic faculty from allergy and other medical specialties to provide a comprehensive and multidisciplinary perspective on allergic disorders. The online CME course features highlights from the 2018 and 2019 live courses.
Target Audience
This course is designed for allergists, internists, family medicine physicians, and pediatricians. It will also benefit nurses, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and others involved in primary care with a specific interest in allergy.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Appreciate the clinically relevant phenotypes of inflammatory airway diseases including asthma, sinusitis and rhinitis.
- Recognize specific treatment modalities applicable to management of disease specific sub-phenotypes.
- Describe the indications, appropriate patient selection and side effects of recent FDA approved medications in allergy, as well as emerging therapeutics for management of allergic disease.
- Review updates and clinical practice strategies in the areas of asthma, rhinitis, chronic rhinosinusitis, immune deficiency, systemic mastocytosis, chronic cough, food and drug allergy and chronic urticaria.
