This one-day course is designed as a continuing education course for optometry, with a balanced assessment of clinically relevant advances in eye care. A few topics include functional vision loss by Dr. John Chen, pediatric anterior segment by Dr. Erick Bothun, a review of gonioscopy skills with Spaeth angle assessment by Dr. Elena Bitrian, glaucoma cases with Dr. Cheryl Khanna and pseudophakic dysphotopsia by Dr. Jay Erie.

- Review cornea cases that need to be referred urgently to the corneal specialist.
- Describe a new surgical procedure for severe dry eye: submandibular transplant.
- Differentiate the diagnosis of functional vision loss vs the mimickers.
- Describe Herpetic eye disease classification and treatment strategies.
- Update skills of angle assessment using the Spaeth system while performing gonioscopy.
