TITLE: Promoting Resiliency in Mayo Clinic Employees
PRESENTER: Matthew Clark, Ph.D., L.P.
INTRODUCTION:
Dr. Matthew M. Clark is a board certified clinical health psychologist, Professor of Psychology, and Chair for Research for the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology. Dr. Clark was on the work group that designed the Dan Abraham Healthy Living Center. His role was to help design an employee wellness center that would be inviting and welcoming to all employees, regardless of health status, fitness level, or gender. For over ten years he has worked with Dr. Kristin Vickers to document the outcomes from Resiliency Programs and Wellness Coaching at the DAHLC. Dr. Clark is on the Scientific Advisory Board for Harvard University’s Institute of Coaching, and is on two NIH grants exploring the role of health coaching to improve physical activity level in medical patients.

- Recognize the prevalence of having a high stress level in Mayo Clinic employees.
- Describe the evidence behind stress management programs at the DAHLC.
- Describe new strategies for reducing burnout in Mayo Clinic employees.
