DESCRIPTION
This weekly conference series is designed to strengthen and advance research activities within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and the Sleep Center. The target audience for this activity is the Division's consultants, fellows, research scientists and their multispecialty research teams. The conference is generally delivered using project-based small group discussions.
In-Person and Live-Streamed; Weekly on Friday from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Resident Fellows, Students, Research Scientists and other members of the interprofessional research team.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the genetic underpinnings and pathophysiologic mechanisms of diseases affecting patients with pulmonary critical care and/or sleep disorders.
- Discuss opportunities for inter-disciplinary and cross-specialty research interactions relevant to pulmonary, critical care and sleep disorders.
- Review a systematic approach to the research process using project proposals, research projects in process, and the presentation of preliminary results.
- Debate the merits of new evidence using recently published peer-reviewed articles.
