DESCRIPTION
The Surgical & Procedural Quality Conference is a quarterly meeting originating from Rochester, MN and simultaneously broadcasting to enterprise and MCHS locations.  At these quarterly conferences, internal and national speakers address timely topics on quality, safety, and teamwork for the surgical and procedural practices. The Surgical & Procedural Committee views this as a critical communication vehicle for updating physician and allied health staff on policy, procedure, and practice changes.

In-Person and Live-Streamed; Quarterly; 7:00-8:00 a.m.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
Allied Health Professionals, Healthcare Executives, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Resident Fellows and Students.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Apply evidence-based practices and current quality and safety standards to minimize harm and improve patient safety.
  • Practice interdisciplinary communication and collaboration to support a culture of safety and high reliability in perioperative settings.
  • Create learning opportunities and adopt best practices for safety and quality in the surgical and procedural practice.

Maintenance of Certification - American Board of Surgery (ABS)
Successful completion of this CME activity enables the learner to earn credit toward the CME requirement of the American Board of Surgery’s Continuous Certification program. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit learner completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABS credit.
 
Maintenance of Certification - American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.00 medical knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
