Mayo Clinic provides this CME course for gynecologic providers and practitioners interested in the most current issues and controversies in gynecology and gynecologic surgery. This interactive program will feature surgical videos and challenging case discussions with the expert panel. Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss current controversial topics in gynecologic surgery such as tissue morcellation and uterine fibroids
- Discuss diagnosis and treatment options for chronic pelvic pain syndrome
- Identify uses of minimally invasive surgery in gynecologic procedures
- Distinguish when it is appropriate to consult interventional radiology for post-operative surgical problems
- Review guidelines for cervical cancer screening
- Review current recommendation on preoperative, perioperative and postop antibiotics, DVT prevention, and bowel preps
- Discuss the management of endometrial hyperplasia, and early endometrial cancer
