DESCRIPTION
Solid organ and stem cell transplant are complex therapeutic approaches and require a deep understanding of immunology, specific therapeutics, expertise in the care of post-transplant complications and patient support. The aim of the Transplant Core curriculum is to provide in a didactic format the broad education that is needed to ensure that the transplant physicians, surgeons, pharmacists, and nurses are able to safely care for such patients.

Live-Streamed; Weekly on Tuesday's from 12:00-1:00p.m.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Registered Dietitians, Resident Fellows, and Social Workers. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Develop core competencies in the care of patients undergoing or after transplantation.
  • Demonstrate how to share good and bad news with patients and their families.
  • Explain the impact of training of diversity and inclusion in the Transplant Center practice patient care.
