DESCRIPTION
Emergency medicine grand rounds is a weekly conference series offered to the Mayo Clinic enterprise emergency department (ED) practice. The conference series is geared to improve the practice of emergency medicine, covering a broad list of topics of relevant specialties related to ED care and delivery; this list of topics includes but is not limited to patient safety, quality improvement, teamwork, efficiency, communication, operations, scientific study, practice, research, education, and care specific topics. The target audience is the multidisciplinary team of the enterprise EDs: physicians of variety of specialties, nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), pharmacists, nurses, respiratory therapists, resident physicians, physician fellows, medical students, NPPA fellows, pharmacy residents, therapists, and others. The conferences are delivered in varying formats: didactics, case discussions, expert panel discussions, simulations, interactive workshops.
In-Personal and Live-Streamed:
Monthly on Monday from 7:00-8:00 a.m. - Trauma PIP
Monthly on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. - Joint Trauma Video Review
Monthly on Wednesday from 7:00-8:00 a.m. - Multidisciplinary PI
Every 6 Weeks on Friday from 7:30-8:30 a.m. - Surgical Approach to Pediatric Trauma
TARGET AUDIENCE
Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Resident Fellows, Students, EMS, Prehospital.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Analyze and address ongoing deficiencies with clinical performance metrics that are identified with our TQIP report, as well as through our trauma PIPS and PI process.
- Assess aspects of high-quality care and care in need of improvement.
