DESCRIPTION
Urology Grand Rounds, an innovative and dynamic program aimed at keeping Mayo Urology Consultants, Residents, and Advanced Practice Providers abreast of the latest advancements in the field. This course is meticulously designed to cover a comprehensive range of topics including localized and advanced prostate cancer, sexual dysfunction, bladder and renal cancer, urinary incontinence, genito-urinary trauma, and benign prostate hypertrophy. Participants will benefit from case-based management approach, which provides a platform for providers to engage in in-depth discussions on complex cases, fostering a collaborative environment for enhancing patient care and outcomes. Additionally, Morbidity and Mortality sessions are integral to the program, focusing on the systematic review of patient events and the quality of medical and surgical decision-making. This course is intended to be an engaging and educational experience that will expand expertise and knowledge in the urology specialty.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended primarily for Department of Urology, Department of Surgery, Department of Radiation Oncology: Residents/Fellows, physicians, PAs, ARNPs.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Acquire basic scientific and clinical knowledge covering the full spectrum of genitourinary disorders.
- Utilize information technology to update treatment protocols according to patient preferences for specific genitourinary diseases.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate complex urologic conditions and their management options to colleagues and patients for enhanced collaborative care and informed decision-making.
- Evaluate current urologic patient care practices (patient outcomes) by critically examining current practice patterns and patient outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement with assimilation of current scientific evidence.
- Construct individualized treatment plans based on patient-specific information for genitourinary diseases.
