This multidisciplinary course targets the integration of pain services across disciplines to address the national and international movement toward improved pain control. The course includes spine care review, pharmacologic management with opioid and non-opioid strategies and updates on common chronic pain conditions.

Target Audience
The 2017 course is targeted towards non-pain specialists of all backgrounds, including general internal medicine, emergency medicine, neurology, family medicine, physiatrists, psychiatrists, hospitalists, advanced-practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other non-pain specialists.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify appropriate patients for chronic opioid therapy versus patients who should be tapered to lower doses, or discontinued.
- Predict patient related risk factors for opioid related morbidity and mortality.
