DESCRIPTION
This conference is a weekly CME activity for consultants and house staff of the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine, where state-of-the-art anesthesiology and perioperative medical practice are presented and discussed. These conferences are open to all anesthesia providers, including consultants, anesthesia residents, fellows, CRNAs, and student nurse anesthetists, at Mayo Clinic Rochester, as well as at locations in Florida, Arizona, and MCHS sites. In-person attendance is expected for consultants, residents, and fellows based in Rochester, while those with clinical responsibilities may opt for a virtual option. Additionally, virtual attendance is available for CRNAs, student nurse anesthetists, and participants outside of Rochester.

In-Person and Live-Streamed; Weekly on Mondays from 6:45-7:30 a.m.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Allied Health Professionals, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, Resident Fellows, Students, and CRNAs.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify quality metrics and the interaction with anesthesia and perioperative medicine.
• Discuss advances in medicine and subsequent implications to anesthesiology.
• Review departmental research activity.
• Apply current evidence-based practices in anesthesiology to enhance clinical decision making and improve patient outcomes through the perioperative timeframe.
• Review and explore the role of emerging new technologies, therapies, and new monitoring tools in relation to their potential impacts on patient safety and anesthetic care.
