PRESENTER BIO
Dr. Kipp is a Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, Division Chair of Mayo Clinic Laboratory Genetics and Genomics Laboratory, and Director of Mayo Clinics Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory. He is a board-certified clinical molecular geneticist who has co-developed and implemented many clinical molecular pathology/genetic assays. He has experience developing clinical tests using real time polymerase chain reaction (PCR), droplet digital PCR (ddPCR), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) multiplex ligation-dependent probe amplification (MLPA), Sanger sequencing, pyrosequencing, methylation specific PCR, and next generation sequencing (NGS) technologies. Dr. Kipp also served as Co-Chair of Mayo Clinic Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology COVID Innovation Team, which focused on quick evaluation of new COVID tests/technologies for clinical testing. Dr. Kipp has coauthored over 135 peer-reviewed articles, multiple book chapters, and he has spoken both nationally and internationally about the rapidly changing world of molecular pathology.
