PRESENTER BIO
Paul A. Harris, PhD, is a professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics, Biomedical Statistics, and Biomedical Engineering. He serves as founding director of the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Office of Research Informatics, informatics director for the Vanderbilt CTSA Informatics program, corresponding PI for the All of Us Data and Research Center, and corresponding PI for the NCATS Recruitment Innovation Center. Dr. Harris created the REDCap data management platform that has been broadly adopted by more than 5,200 academic, non-profit, and government organizations across 142 countries. He created a national recruitment registry, Research Match, that matches individuals desiring to volunteer for studies and researchers recruiting patients. This program serves approximately 154,000 research volunteers and 186 research institutions. Dr. Harris received a PhD degree in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University, has significant experience working in the field of clinical and translational research informatics, and has published extensively in prominent scientific journals. He has received special awards for professional activity including election as a Fellow from the International Academy of Health Sciences Informatics and a Fellow from the American College of Medical Informatics.
