PRESENTER BIO

Vershalee Shukla, M.D., is a board-certified radiation oncologist, who has served the Phoenix area for the past 7 years. She completed her medical degree at University of Saskatchewan in Canada where she was born and raised. She then completed her residency at the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine, and she sought further specialized training at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. Dr. Shukla is also one of the first Radiation Oncologists in the world to treat patients using Zap, a new revolutionary, self- shielded technology able to ablate head and neck tumors.

Dr. Shukla co-founded Vincere Cancer Center in 2017, a comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer center in Scottsdale, Arizona. She provides cancer screening, cancer treatments, surgery, and integrative therapies. Dr. Shukla also founded the First Responder Cancer Screening Program. Initially a partnership with the City of Phoenix, it has since grown to numerous cities across the Valley, with over 500 first responders being screened each year.

 

By the age of 43, Dr. Shukla has authored extensively on various topics in the field of oncology. She has published over thirty articles in peer-reviewed journals and two textbook chapters. She has given multiple lectures on both national and international stages and was recently selected as the Medical Advisor to Phoenix Medical Professionals Magazine. Furthermore, she was interviewed by the New York Times and Inc. Magazine and recognized by PHOENIX Magazine as Top Doc in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.

 

Dr. Shukla is committed to providing the highest quality of cancer care to her patients. She does this by utilizing cutting-edge technology along with evidence-based medicine in an inspiring and compassionate environment. Survivorship and quality of life are of equal importance to her.

She is beyond excited to be working with the esteemed Dr. Deepak Chopra to develop yoga and meditation programs for cancer patients. Finally, she values giving back to her community and does so by being an active member of the board of trustees for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Joy Bus.
