• Recognize the etiologies of sporadic and inherited thoracic ascending aortopathies
• Identify thresholds for surgical intervention based on etiology, risk factors, and genetics of different aortopathies
• Describe when genetic testing is warranted in patients with thoracic aortic aneurysms
