Session date:
05/25/2016 - 7:30am to 8:30am

Location: Gonda SL, Room 208 (Geffen Auditorium)

Learning Objectives:

  • Incidence and progression of high gradient following TAVR
  • Impact of high gradient on mortality, Major adverse cardiac events and rehospitalization
  • Recognize that carotid intraplaque neovascularization (IPN) is a marker for vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque and that microbubble enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) may detect IPN
  • Assess the relationship of lipoprotein profile characteristics with presence of carotid IPN
  • Recognize that detection of vulnerable plaque may be of incremental value to stress echo in cardiovascular risk prediction
