DESCRIPTION
This series occurs weekly on Wednesdays at 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. in Geffen Auditorium, Gonda Building, unless otherwise noted in the session. This is a weekly one-hour conference which focuses on topics pertinent to the ongoing clinical practice of cardiac imaging, continuing education, quality assurance, and research.

TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended for practicing adult cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, cardiovascular trainees, general internists, family medicine specialists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses with a cardiovascular interest.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Apply echocardiographic information in clinical decision making
  • Quantitatively assess Doppler and color flow imaging
  • Assess left ventricular function
  • Recognize usefulness of Doppler for assessing hemodynamics and diastolic function
  • Describe the value and limitations of stress and contrast echocardiography
  • Summarize the clinical uses of transesophageal echocardiography
  • Utilize the methods, instrumentation, and modalities of echocardiography
  • Identify recent advances in ultrasound
  • Develop skills necessary to evaluate valvular lesions, prosthetic valves, dissection, mass, cardiomyopathy, and ischemic heart disease
  • Discuss non-echocardiographic imaging modalities used in various cardiac conditions
  • Discuss clinical applications of strain imaging
  • Discuss clinical applications of 3D echocardiography


Each session may also provide it's own objectives.

ABIM (Starting on September 4, 2019)
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 1.0 MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion  information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit. 

ABIM Credit will be manually awarded to participants physically attending the live session.
Participation information will be shared with ABIM through PARS.
