1. Examine the basic physics of positron emission tomography and how it differs from conventional nuclear imaging.

2. Assess the unique cqapabilities of cardiac PET to measure myocardial blood flow and metabolism, and newer uses in gene therapy.

3. Review clinical examples of PET imaging and its use in clinical decision making.
