Echocardiography for Structural Heart Interventions

Learning Objectives:

1) Describe the role of 2D and 3D echocardiography in the closure of atrial septal defects and patent foramen ovale.

2) Apply echocardiography to better guide pericardiocentesis, endomyocardial biopsy, and alcohol septal ablation.

3) Integrate 3D echocardiography and 3D color Doppler to guide paravalvular leak closure and left atrial appendage closure.

4) Assess the role of 2D and 3D echocardiography in guiding mitral valve interventions including transcatheter mitral valve edge-to-edge repair and mitral valve-in-valve procedures.
