8th Annual Heart Rhythm & ECG Course: A Case-Based Approach - MOC ABIM

Scottsdale, AZ US
December 5, 2019 to December 7, 2019

Course Directors: Komandoor Srivathsan, MD; Dan Sorajja, MD; Win Shen, MD

The ABIM MOC session will open December 8, 2019 at 3:00pm CST and close on January 5, 2020 at 11:59pm CST.
You will be given a maximum of two (2) opportunities to provide thoughtful, paragraph answers to the two reflective questions.

Reflection on improving your medical practice is an important aspect of your ongoing professional learning. Reflection can help you to:

  • Better understand your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Identify your current practice.
  • Acknowledge and challenge possible assumptions.
  • Recognize areas of potential growth.
  • Identify possible inadequacies or areas for improvement.
  • Reflection can lead to greater self-awareness.

Taking time to reflect can help you identify approaches that have worked well, and in that way reinforce good practice. It can also help you to determine how you can improve or make changes that would be beneficial in the future.

Reflective writing often requires movement between past and present tenses, depending on whether you are recounting the actual events or making a more general comment (for example, how to improve the doctor-patient relationship, or reflecting on an aspect of how you will take the knowledge you have gained and apply it in your practice). With this in mind, please answer both questions in paragraph form using at least 3-5 sentences. The answer provided should demonstrate how new knowledge will be applied and how it will change your future practice.

Following the close date, your reflective answers will be reviewed by the course directors to ensure they meet the passing standard. If not, you will be contacted and asked to re-submit within two weeks.

Once the review is done and you have passed, your ABIM credits will be awarded to you. We will then report those credits to ABIM on your behalf. You will be awarded the same amount of MOC credit as you claimed for AMA credit.
