Midwest Pediatric Cardiology Society Annual Meeting 2018 General Session

The Midwest Pediatric Cardiology Society Meeting is an annual event designed to bring together anyone who cares for pediatric cardiology patients, including pediatric cardiologists, pediatric cardiovascular surgeons, pediatric cardiac intensivists, neurodevelopmental specialists, social workers, and pediatric cardiology nurses. The focus is on original research, with scientific abstracts submitted and presented in oral and poster forms. The event typically spans over 2 days. The first day includes an allied health scientific session and social events. The second day is taken up entirely by abstract presentations, with a single lunch lecture given by an invited speaker.

Target Audience
This course is designed for pediatric cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, pediatric cardiac intensivists, neurodevelopmental specialists, social workers and pediatric cardiology nurses.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Recognize current strategies for improving outcomes in patients after surgical palliation for hypoplastic left heart syndrome.
- Identify the breadth of research being performed by academic pediatric cardiology programs in the Midwest.
