  • Describe the epidemiology and risk factors for severe COVID-19 disease including the impact of cardiac injury on outcomes.
  • Identify histopathology and mechanisms of myocardial damage in SARS-CoV-2 infection and compare them to the histology and mechanisms of typical lymphocytic myocarditis.
  • Apply the knowledge of possible mechanisms of cardiac damage to the management of patients with severe COVID-19 disease.
