LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- Recognize known genetic bases of early onset familial Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal lobar degeneration
- Discuss genomic associations of young onset dementia in patients lacking a known genetic cause
- Summarize the clinical experience with incorporating genomic testing and disclosure of results to patients/families with unexplained young onset dementia
- Identify knowledge gaps in relating genomic findings to clinical outcomes based upon the preliminary results of this small pilot study
- Discuss public preferences and expectations of predictive testing (genetic and biomarker) for Alzheimer’s disease
