DESCRIPTION
Principal Investigators (PI)/Sub-Investigators (Sub-I) from each Disease Oriented Group (DOG)/Disease Working Group (DWG) will present a 40-minute overview of their disease with focus on clinical symptoms, diagnostic evaluation, treatment, staging, and current clinical trials investigating the disease. The lecture will be followed by 15-20 minutes of discussion and questions. This activity will provide study staff with greater understanding and knowledge of the diseases that are being studied in the clinical trials they conduct. The target audience will be clinical research staff in Arizona.
 
TARGET AUDIENCE
This course is intended primarily for Nurses, Scientist Researchers, Allied Health Professionals, Students, and Clinical Research Coordinators; Lab Technicians; Other Research Staff.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Identify cancer and non-cancer diseases.
  • Apply a new approach to their studies and patient care.
