This online CNE course reviews and compares several anticoagulation medications including dosing, clinical considerations, patient monitoring, and reversal medications. 

 

Target Audience

This online CNE course is designed for nurses and other healthcare professionals caring for patients receiving anticoagulation medications.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

1. Define the FDA approved uses for the direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs).
2. Compare and contrast warfarin to the different DOACs.
3. Discuss the role and dosing of anticoagulation reversal with 4F-PCC.
4. Discuss the role and dosing of andexanet alfa and idarducizumab for DOAC reversal.
5. Apply information learned to a patient case.
