This “Essentials of Continuous Professional Development” activity provides a variety of important educational content and resources for course directors, faculty, and staff which focus on the development of continuous professional development programs. This activity includes topics such as copyright, protected health information, developing an educational need or gap statement, building good assessments, etc.
The following sessions are available with more to come:

Module 4 - Develop A Practice Gap and Educational Need: Tips for Course Directors

Target Audience
This activity is appropriate for allied health, healthcare executives, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, and physician assistants involved in the planning of continuous professional development activities.
Learning Objectives
Upon conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Describe the importance of including patients as partners in CPD
- Enumerate effective CPD delivery formats
- Describe the concept of competency-based education
- Review copyright regulatory framework

ACHE
By attending the Essentials of Continuous Professional Development offered by Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science participants may earn up to 2.50 ACHE Qualified Education Hours toward initial certification or recertification of the Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) designation.
ACPE
Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science designates this educational activity for a maximum of 2.50 ACPE Knowledge-based contact hours. Participants should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
ANCC
Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science designates this enduring material for a maximum of 2.50 ANCC contact hours. Nurses should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
AOA
The American Osteopathic Association designates this program for a maximum of 2.50 AOA Category 2-A credits.
Each module will offer between .25 – 1.0 credits.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:
Request for cancellations must be submitted in writing to cme@mayo.edu. When cancelling a registration for a course 14 days or more before the course start date, a full refund (minus a $75 administrative fee) will be issued in the same form of payment the registration was received. No refunds are granted less than 14 days before the course start date.
