
Mayo Clinic Hand Surgery Conference 2017

This biennial 2.5 day didactic course emphasizes the developments in hand surgery that have occurred at Mayo Clinic as well as at the institutions of Mayo Hand Fellow Alumni. Surgical skills cadaver dissections will be performed live and broadcast into the meeting room highlighting new techniques and surgeries for the attendees. The meeting will also include interactive case discussions, surgeries no longer being performed, and nightmare complications sections.

Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:
- Identify what is new regarding advances in vascularized bone grafting for scaphoid nonunions
- Analyze how national leaders in hand surgery address and overcome complications of hand surgery
- Determine and review new scientific break-throughs by participating in the scientific paper presentations
- Evaluate the latest advancements of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of thumb basilar joint arthritis
- Evaluate the latest advancements of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of DRUJ instability
- Evaluate the latest advancements of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of traumatic brachial plexus injuries
- Evaluate the latest advancements of both surgical and nonsurgical treatment of distal radius fractures
- Construct a diagnostic treatment algorithm for the treatment of scapholunate ligament and perilunate injuries
- Construct a diagnostic and treatment algorithm for ulnar sided wrist pain
